Our desk yoga workshops are an extension of our popular desk-based movement and fitness classes.

For teams looking to build a practical toolkit, our three signature workshops offer a more comprehensive solution for improving well-being and comfort while working at a desk.

Yoga & Pilates at Your Desk offers a dynamic blend of desk-based yoga and Pilates, perfect for those wanting to incorporate more movement into their day.

Self-Care at Your Desk introduces desk-friendly self-care practices and workspace improvements to help alleviate the stresses and strains of computer work.

Essential Posture takes a holistic approach to posture and ergonomics, exploring their impact on both body and mind and offers practical ideas for optimising them.

Yoga & Pilates at Your Desk

In recognition of 2024’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme of ‘movement,’ we are thrilled to offer an invigorating yet low-impact experience that will leave your employees feeling stronger, bendier, and ready to take on the day.

In this workshop, we combine the best of our renowned desk yoga and desk Pilates classes, expertly designed to target the areas of the body that often feel fatigued and tight after prolonged periods of sitting. Suitable for all levels of fitness including complete beginners, our exercises are highly adaptable, with many options for seated participation. All of the exercises can be performed at a desk, wearing regular clothes, and without breaking a sweat.

Led by The Office Yoga Company’s founder, Anouska Shenn, this immersive session will guide your employees through the exercises and poses in real-time, establishing the benefits of each in turn. Combining the stress-busting effects of yoga with the posture-correcting advantages of Pilates, the sequences have been put together to efficiently deliver the most impact, based on our experiences working with 10,000+ office workers globally over the past seven years.

After the endorphin hit of the session, you and your colleagues will also come away with a valuable handout summarising the sequences you’ve experienced. Each sequence has a specific focus and lasts 5-10 minutes, allowing them to blend effortlessly into your work day.

Whether you’re based in London or anywhere else in the world, we’ve got you covered. Yoga & Pilates at Your Desk can be seamlessly facilitated in person at your London office or virtually for companies worldwide. It’s the perfect choice for HR professionals and Office Managers looking to prioritise their team’s wellbeing this year.

Self-Care at Your Desk

In this hands-on and informative workshop, we will explore desk-based yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, and self-care practices that have been adapted to integrate easily into the workday. You will also learn practical suggestions for making your work area a more soothing (and productive!) space.

In particular, we highlight strategies for minimising and helping to undo the effects of sitting at a desk. Taking key areas of the body that are commonly impacted by long hours of computer work, we will cover what to avoid, quick fixes for instant relief, and longer-term strategies for preventing aches and pains from occurring in the first place.

All of the practices we review are desk-based and are designed to slot easily into the work day. They require no equipment and can be performed while wearing regular work clothes.

Posture Workshop

Posture has a profound influence over how we feel, not just in our bodies but in our minds as well. Slouching has been shown to increase feelings of anxiety, low self-esteem, and low mood. In the same recent study, even the language used by the test subjects who were asked to slouch contained more negative words than that of the subjects who sat upright for the experiment. Hunching our spines can also instil a negative recall bias (the tendency to remember bad things more than the good), and make us less productive. Add in the fact that many body aches and pains are caused by poor posture!

With that in mind, we designed our Essential Posture workshop to address common computer-work challenges, from fatigue to specific patterns of habitual tension and muscular imbalances associated with working at a desk.

In this workshop:
  • You’ll be guided systematically through an assessment of your workspace and seated and standing postures
  • You will discover ways of standing and sitting which reduce wear-and-tear on the joints and minimise stiffness
  • You will learn strategies for making your desk setup kinder to your body
  • You will explore techniques derived from yoga and other movement traditions to help undo the effects of sitting at a desk
